Zuerst haben wir uns überlegt, was ein Ritter für eine Ausrüstung hat: sword, helmet, armour, shield, chain mail shirt, knighted by a king, shin protectors, chestplate,… Danach haben wir das Arbeitsblatt 6.3 gelesen und geschaut, wie man ein Ritter wird.
- Page – from age 7 to 13. He learns to ride horses, go hunting and to use of wood weapons. They helped a local knight, baron, or royal court.
- Squire – from 14 to 21. He helps a fullknight, learns to use the weapons and armour of war, and improves his general education, especially the code of chivalry.
- Knighting – When aged 18-21, the ceremony of beeing made a knight performed by another knight.
- Service – Acts as a guard for a baron and his castle, fights in wars for one’s sovereign and the Church, and performs in medieval tournaments.
Rules of chivalry (Ritterlichkeit): Loyalty (Treue) – Honour (Würde) – Humility (Demut) – Courtly Love (Minne)
